The village hall will be holding a talk at 6:30pm on 27th November about Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition: 1914 – 1917 – presented by Roderick Wordie, the grandson of Sir James Mann Wordie, Scottish polar explorer, geologist and member of Shackleton’s team.
Tickets cost £20 and include a glass of wine and a curry supper cooked by the village.
To reserve tickets please email: eastleachvhall@gmail.com with you name and address and how many tickets you require. Confirmation of your booking will then be made along with payment details.

But despite this, we had a particularly successful event with many people attending from far and wide and on this occasion, bringing their dogs to enter the fete dog show. In excess of £6000 was raised which will be split between St Andrew’s Church and the Village Hall.
This event remains a really important afternoon for the village where we come together as a community – all working together to organise, put up, take down and tidy up. This can at times prove thirsty work and on this occasion, free drinks were provided by the hall committee for those helping erecting tents, moving chairs and tables, dismantling tents and those generally ‘building up a sweat!’
Our thanks goes to the fantastic Fete Committee this year made up of Susannah Gill, Julia McLellan, Rob Clegg, Jo Elliott and David McKenna amongst others. But of course our main thanks goes to all those who manned their stalls and those who visited!
